Seabury Adds Staff to Support Growth of Investment Banking & Financial Restructuring
Jonathan Montbach and Omar Mirza will focus on industries beyond Aviation & Aerospace
NEW YORK, February 22, 2010 – Seabury Capital LLC, a global advisory and investment management firm, today announced that Jonathan Montbach and Omar Mirza have joined the firm as Vice President, Investment Banking and Restructuring. They will contribute as part of Seabury’s growing Investment Banking and Restructuring practice with a focus outside of the firm’s traditional Aviation and Aerospace sectors.

Mr. Montbach has lead deal execution teams throughout transactions. He brings 17 years of experience having worked most recently with KPMG as Vice President Special Situations Advisory Group where his clients were involved in a broad range of industries, including gaming, industrials, homebuilders, investment funds, consumer electronics/products, and retail. He has demonstrated success in a range of areas including out of court restructuring negotiations, exchange offers, and distressed acquisition strategies, including analysis of tax attributes (NOLs) and merger synergies.
Mr. Mirza has acted in almost all aspects of the distressed investing transaction cycle (buy and sell sides) and / or restructuring advisory (for debtors and creditors) across such sectors as financial services, funds management, structured finance, real estate, retail, manufacturing, transportation, viticulture and government. His global work experience includes the US, Germany, UK, Israel, Japan and Australia. Recently while in the Restructuring and Special Situations Group at KPMG, he led the development of KPMG’s global distressed debt intellectual property and infrastructure, based on an investment banking model. In addition, Mr. Mirza is a qualified Attorney having previously practiced in corporate law, restructuring and distressed debt.
